Mary Mentele is a delight to work with. She is very caring and enjoys the people she is with, working efficiently and effectively. She addresses and sorts out the “little” issues for patients that might otherwise be overlooked, taking the time and effort to show her concern for her patients. As a charge nurse, Mary is a calming presence in times of high patient population. She is easy to approach and willing to be a resource whenever needed. She is willing to take on the more complex care assignments and ensure our patients and their families have positive outcomes. Mary serves on many committees and her work with those committees is very much appreciated as it not only benefits our unit, but UWMC as a whole, making sure we can effectively care for every patient, every time. Mary is, indeed, a well-rounded, professional and caring nurse and very deserving of this DAISY Award.
