Mary always makes a very positive impression on everyone and brings positive vibes to our unit. She knows her craft, she always has had a great rapport with patients as well as with staff she is extremely responsible.
She is an outstanding nurse. I recall one patient, he was a big challenge and Mary was always calm and on one occasion came out of his room after his yelling of over a few hours. And she said, "I love that kid". She managed to have a 24 yr. old patient bathe after so many days of not wanting to bathe. Early morning, middle of the day, all day long she treats staff and families with respect, care, and most importantly compassion.
You should know also that Mary is extremely funny, fun and loves cats. She loves to travel and is always stepping out of the box to help others. You can ask Mary anything and she explains it until you understand, she will listen and make you feel so much better.
Mary also has exceptional Charge nurse skills. She is able to assume a position of authority when in charge and still help patients while bedside nurses are busy with other patients.
So many other great qualities Mary Moses might have, I don't know her personal life but, the experience of working with her is a great one and I must somehow let you all know about her and how she is a true DAISY Nurse.

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, one's world comes completely undone. Then comes the hospital stays and the feeling that our life has been put on pause. Being inpatient for the better part of 7 months was really hard on our 7-year-old son. Gone were the days of running around, riding his bike or just playing with his cousins. Being inpatient was rough on him, but it would've been worse had it not been for the nurses and staff we were surrounded by. One of those nurses, Mary Moses, is one that I will never forget.
Mary came into our lives when my son was admitted to the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. With her bright smile and cheerful spirit that is contagious, she quickly became one of his favorite ladies there. We could brighten up his day by just letting him know she would be taking care of him for the day. She would help calm him down on his worst days and even when there was nothing that could comfort him, she already knew not to "poke the bear." Her love and patience with him always came through in every action. Whether it was helping him with meds or simply making him some hot chocolate (which she'd leave special instructions for other nurses to make on her days off), everybody on the floor knew of their bond. My son trusted her so much that he felt comfortable staying by himself to give me some time because he knew that Mary would be there for whatever he may need.
Not only was she a strong presence for him, but for me as well. She was always there to answer my questions and ease my worries or just to lend an ear to a random rant. "Calm down, Mama Bear," she'd tell me in a playful way. She became our Mama Bear though. My son considers her his second mother. That just comes to show how much love oozed out of her.
Words do not come easily to me, especially when it comes to trying to explain the beautiful relationship and dynamic, we created with Mary. She is the most wonderful, loving, beautiful person there is. She is an amazing nurse who loves her job and just always goes above and beyond her call. I know for a fact we are not the only family that has had the privilege to meet her and be under her care. Mary not only embodies what a pediatric nurse should be, but also, what it is to be human.
