I am new to Baycare but have been in nursing (OR) and ASCs since 2005. That being said, I have a wonderful team at Trinity Surgery Center. One RN in particular stands out and deserves recognition for her work ethic, dedication, and teamwork.
Mary Murphy has been with Baycare since 2010. She has started out being PRN for Trinity Surgery and Meadowlane Surgery Center but when the merged happened, Mary became a FT team member. Mary exhibits all the qualities that Baycare holds important and that patients want to see in their caregivers. Here are a FEW things that make Mary a diamond in the rough:
Mary is an elite TM that is respected by ALL customers; and when I say "customers," I am referring to surgeons, anesthesia providers, every team member, and most importantly, THE PATIENTS! I cannot express the value Mary brings to the team at TSC. She is a CN II but takes on the role and responsibilities of a CN III not because she is paid to but because she LOVES her profession and Baycare. She will not back down from difficult situations and always stands up for what is right for the patient. Mary's attention to detail is by far one of many of her excellent characteristics. With this detail, Mary never misses a beat when it comes to patient care and what is best for her team members.
Mary is a role model - for everyone. She directs the flow of patients, ensures surgeons are started out with a positive attitude when they arrive and is always working WITH her team members and not against them. If I could clone Mary, I would. Everyone needs a Mary Murphy on their team. I sure am lucky to have her!
