Mary is an exceptional, compassionate RN that wears her heart on her sleeve supporting both patients and families going the extra mile on so many levels. Just when I thought I had seen it all, she once again proved me wrong by providing a service to a very emotional and difficult to discharge patient and her family.

It was obvious that Mary held this patient and the spouse especially close to her heart and wanted to provide all the comfort she could to them when returning home to live out her terminal illness. On Mary's day off she made arrangements to pick up a medical recliner that was found on Craig's List. With the help of Pastoral Care and support from staff, Mary was able to collect the money needed to purchase the recliner and delivered it to the spouse via her own vehicle on a Saturday. This caring gesture was just a small part of the hard work Mary put forth in getting this patient home to spend time with her loved ones.
