January 2017 Honoree
mary nierman, RN
My Aunt was hospitalized for pulmonary edema. She has diabetes and has been in and out of the hospital over the past 4 years. I could tell by talking to her that Mary genuinely cares about the well-being of my Aunt. She took her time checking everything and even took the time to talk to me about how she was doing. I had a zillion questions and she never once acted in a hurry to leave. This means a lot to me because my mom (my Aunt's sister) passed away in 2012 from diabetes complications. Mary really deserves this award and I hope she will get it because she is a hard working and caring worker. Whenever I walk in this building I am always extremely emotional because my mom spent most of her last few years here. I only wish that I had such a great nurse as Mary to help me understand what was going on when my mother was alive.
Thank you, Mary, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
