In nominating Mary for this honor, a colleague wrote, "I'm deeply amazed by the love and care she is giving to a new mom who has breast cancer. Mary took time out of her life to take pictures of the renewal of the couple's wedding vows and help organize a fundraiser for the family." Mary was highlighted in her nomination as being an "amazingly loving, kind, compassionate person who goes beyond the call of duty."
