Mary Poe, RN

My great-uncle was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with respiratory and heart failure. I work at Arkansas Heart Hospital and told Mary Poe about my uncle, and she immediately jumped into action and called the doctor. The doctor agreed to accept him as a patient so he could be transferred to us. The doctors took care of him, removing multiple liters of fluid from his lungs, and kept him on a Bi-Pap until he was strong enough to be discharged back to his own home. My family and I are so thankful for all their hard work, but I especially want to thank Mary because I honestly don’t know if he would be here today without her making that call on my behalf. She immediately said, "We take care of our own." She did what it took to get him the care he needed.
