As I was being transported down the 3rd floor hallway to my room, an RN approached me and introduced herself as Mary Rose and that she would be my nurse. She completed her initial assessment of me while explaining everything, asking appropriate questions, and had my wellbeing and care in mind to ensure I would fully recover. Her friendliness, professionalism, knowledge of her job and attitude never declined, each time she came to my room to administer medications or hang another IV. I could tell she really loved her job and had the confidence to perform her job well. She effortlessly succeeded in surpassing my expectations. My mother was also an RN on a MedSurg unit for 51 years and retired at the age of 73. She passed in 2001; however, I know she would also have been proud to see the effort put forth by Mary Rose in taking care of me during my stay at Stafford Hospital.
