Nurse Mary was so calm, understanding, and empathetic to my feelings acknowledging my fears while giving me a sense of security.
My husband and I were going into a second round of IVF after our first ended in a miscarriage. Today was our egg retrieval day and I was a nervous wreck as recent COVID surges resulted in our original plans of anesthesia for egg retrieval changing. I ended up having no choice but to do the retrieval under only Valium and Dilaudid which I did for our first round of IVF and had a horrible experience being in so much pain. I came into our clinic today a total nervous wreck worried about the pain and very anxious. Nurse Mary was so calm, understanding, and empathetic to my feelings acknowledging my fears while giving me a sense of security. She told me they were going to try to keep me as comfortable as possible this time and upped my pain medications.

She also was a wonderful educator to my husband on administering our IM shots and even showed compassion for my husband's eye stye giving him pointers and tips. The entire time she was patient and made me feel so much more relaxed without making me feel bad. I ended up doing the procedure with expected pain but felt more comfortable than the first time. She was absolutely wonderful and took a frustrating and scary scenario for me and helped make it a more enjoyable one. She made me feel like I was the only patient she had and never rushed us. Even when I had some questions and concerns related to my doctor she helped to calm my concerns while promoting the physician himself as a wonderful provider. She really made a huge difference today for my procedure that I was having panic attacks the night before.

She is an amazing nurse and truly deserves this award. As a nurse myself we can be some of the worst patients because we know too much but she truly was an angel when we most needed it. She is a top 100 nurse if she has not already gotten it. I’ve also seen her in the waiting room calling other patients and is so kind, welcoming, and respectful of their privacy.
