... I came to Women and Babies Hospital in labor, one month before my actual due date. Mary was my nurse in the delivery room and I couldn't have asked for a better person. She made me feel calm and comfortable despite being 8 cm dilated and having constant contractions. I felt an extra sense of care from Mary.

Throughout the next hour and a half leading up to the birth, Mary was able to keep me and my family calm and even had us laughing. I chose to do a natural childbirth, so I was in terrible pain, but Mary made me feel like I was a superhero. She was attentive, encouraging, comforting, and so sweet. During contractions, she made eye contact with me to help me focus through the pain and the entire time reminding me to control my breathing while telling me how awesome I was doing and how it would all be over soon. During the "down time" she got to know my boyfriend and me and I felt like she genuinely cared about us the entire time and that really made all the difference.

To have such a great experience during a very emotional yet also scary situation was something I will never forget. Thanks to Mary I have a great memory of my time in the delivery room and I could never thank her enough for that!
