Mary has taken on a huge challenge this year with a tremendous increase in patient load without missing a beat, and still has been available to the rest of our team to lend a hand in whatever situation may arise. Mary has some of the greatest in-depth knowledge regarding Nephrology, pediatric care, and in general around all aspects of nursing care that are incredibly invaluable to our small team.
Mary is always a joy to work with, her spirit and attitude truly make a difference when times are tough or we find ourselves in a bind. I feel one of the greatest aspects that makes Mary such a wonderful nominee for this award is that she is compassionate. Not only just compassionate about her specific patients and population she manages, but compassionate towards the other areas of Nephrology and the patient populations associated, and compassionate in her mannerisms with the staff. Mary is always the first to help out a fellow co-worker regardless of how intense or troubling a situation may be, and the first to offer help with small things like time management with getting staff to breaks, lunches, and cleaning.
Mary is a wonderful nurse, co-worker, advocate and team player who truly embodies every quality of excellence that we should all strive to be in the health care industry, I can only hope to amount to be as great of a nurse as her.
