Mary "Cappie" Tavary is a Junior 1 student. In addition to being a passionate and committed student of nursing, Mary truly demonstrates the core values of LSU-Health SON. This student frequently extended herself to support her peers in clinical and respectfully communicated her concerns with caring and professionalism. Mary exemplified the high-level integrity and excellence expected of LSU Health SON students. Always striving to learn something new and excel yet recognizing that the results of her efforts may only be realized by her patients, the student is the heart of patient-centered care. Every week Mary contributed new learning to our group by sharing her findings from her research and 'digging-deeper' into patient conditions and complications. Mary led her peers by bravely demonstrating what deep reflection is and that by sharing our hearts, we can all grow together.
