Mary Tomlinson, RM

Mary was present for my amniocentesis. Mary instantly made me and my husband feel confident in her care. She was so compassionate, genuinely cared for our needs in a difficult situation, and explained everything clearly. She was the midwife who gave us our good news and told us that we were expecting a girl, which was the best birthday present for my Husband. Unfortunately, our daughter became quite unwell a few weeks later and we met Mary again. I was so scared for this appointment and then I saw Mary. Seeing her made me feel safe and I felt like I could get through anything as I knew I had her. She told me to keep being positive and that really kept me going when I felt like I couldn’t do much more. She was gentle and kind, and it was just what we needed. Our daughter was born sleeping. My husband and I often speak of Mary and how wonderful she was, and that we hope she’s giving more parents good news. If all midwives could be like Mary, the world would be a beautiful place.
