I had an accident and ended up needing antibiotic IV therapy every day. I started at the ED and went through several units and multiple surgeries - and everyone has been great, but especially the Infusion Unit and Mary. Coming to the hospital every day is okay when you find someone like her. She makes us laugh, talks and jokes with us. We live in Rush so finding transportation was really difficult. Mary made many calls to find us help. Some people said no because of our age or other things but she did not give up. She always shares news tidbits with us. We can talk about anything with her and that is really important, even religion. Mary always has a smile and talks with everyone. We hear her encouraging her coworkers and have seen how other nurses can ask for help and how quickly and warmly she helps them. She treats all her patients with respect and with her smile and laughter. She asks about her time in the John Zay house or other things and we can tell she really does care!!!!! When she changes the bandages she is kind, caring and positive. Mary shares herself with us and we appreciate her. Mary has a great heart. All the nurses up here are really great but Mary is special to us.
