March 2019 Honoree
maryann wagoner, RN
My 4 yr. old daughter K has epilepsy, she was diagnosed at 6 months of age. We have spent a lot of time in your ED in the last 3 1/2 years due to her seizures. Maryann, aka Fluff, has been K's nurse many times and always goes above and beyond to care for her and us. I am always very happy and relieved to see her there because I know K is in her competent and compassionate hands. My daughter is a hard stick for IVs and labs. Fluff is able to get her IV on the first stick and can draw her labs from it, saving her more painful needle sticks. She cares for K like she's her own daughter. K wanted a purple sucker after a recent visit and the ED was out of suckers. Fluff searched other departments in the hospital until she found a candy bracelet for K. The smile on her face said it all!
Thank you, Maryann, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
