Associate Dean Maryanne Hicks is a role model for compassion and exemplary practice. She has consistently been devoted to the LMC Nursing Program since she served as a full-time faculty member.
When the call for service was presented, she stepped up and filled a much-needed leadership role in our Department. From the time she was appointed as Associate Dean of Nursing, she has worked tirelessly not only to bring our program up to standards but also to make improvements. She fearlessly takes on immense tasks to allow our programs to set and achieve new goals.
This unwavering commitment to our nursing students comes from her devotion to the importance of compassion and patient advocacy in nursing. She often shares that it is her goal to ensure that the nurses entering the workforce care for all of their patients the way she would like for herself or a family member to be cared for. She is highly educated and incredibly talented, and she would be an asset to any position and workplace, andd yet she applies all of her energy and focus to this program and our students. Her dedication to nursing education is an inspiration.
