March 2011 Honoree
masto somlith, RN
“I would like to recognize a truly terrific RN, Masto Somlith, we had the pleasure of working with him on FMS 230/250. Not only is he wonderful to work with as a fellow provider but his clinical acumen is outstanding.
Yesterday we had a patient with non-specific symptoms here for evaluation. An EKG was ordered which Masto performed. He immediately recognized an acute infarction based upon the EKG and consulted me right away. He correctly assessed the need for oxygen and morphine and facilitated an immediate transfer to the ED. Within a minute of arriving in the ED, the patient coded and went into V fib. The patient was resuscitated, stabilized and transferred to Memorial Hospital for urgent catheterization.
I truly believe that without his rapid response to a critical situation, the patient may well have died.

Thank you, Masto, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
