Clara Jones RN was quick to recognize something was not right with me and called an ERT when recognizing my high heart rate. Without Clara's quick thinking, I am not sure what could have happened to myself or my baby. She was kind and helped calm my breathing and made sure I stayed awake and alert so I could be transferred to the ED for further care. I am so lucky to work alongside someone who cares so deeply for her co-workers as well as her patients- because in that moment she treated me just like any patient she cared for. Thank you, Clara, you are truly an amazing nurse.

Ashley Sacks RN was my night nurse on my last night being hospitalized. The previous nurse had mentioned I had a rough couple of days beforehand and I had gotten little to no sleep. Ashley made sure I went undisturbed throughout the night so I could have the therapeutic rest I needed. It was the first night in three days I had more than two hours of sleep. She was personable and friendly and took care of all of my needs without hesitation. Thank you, Ashley.

Angela Salio RN was my dayshift nurse on my third hospital day stay. This day was incredibly hard for me after having a not-so-great experience with a doctor. Angie listened to my concerns and advocated for me and the care I was receiving. Angie stood by my bedside as doctors helped come up with a better plan and diagnosis for me. I was not feeling well all day and Angie made me feel comfortable and allowed me to get some rest and relax. She treated me with kindness and respect throughout the day and responded to my call bell quickly and efficiently when I was having trouble with my heart rate. Thank you, Angie.

Victoria McFarland RN responded to a red phone call from CMR that gave my dangerously high heart rate. She ran into my room and discovered I was in distress and needed help. Without hesitation, she grabbed oxygen to help give me and my baby extra support while my heart rate was so high. She participated in the MATT that was called and was incredibly kind and caring to me and explained everything that was going on in a way that I could understand. She also placed an IV in me later on that night and was incredibly skilled and knowledgeable -she made it look so easy. She held my hand while I was feeling scared and anxious and assured me that she was not going to leave my side until I felt better. Victoria was not even my bedside nurse, and she did not have to stay or comfort me- she did it out of the kindness of her heart. She is truly an amazing nurse, Reading Hospital should be incredibly proud of the care she gives. Thank you, Victoria.

Victoria Williams RN responded to my call bell even though she was not my nurse to discover I was in need of help. Victoria called a MATT from my room phone and without hesitation helped me through a run of high heart rate by helping me through it. She participated in the code and gave Dr. Donato great information about how high my heart rate was and suggestions on how to help control it. I specifically heard Dr. Donato thank her for calling a MATT once he had ended it and praised her for her quick thinking and actions. Thank you, Tori.

Tanya Larrimore RN was so amazing during my stay; she was quick to pick up changes in my vitals and reported quickly for the doctors to come to assess me. Tanya stayed with me at my bedside and made sure I was feeling better before even thinking about leaving the room. She took time out of her night to make me feel more comfortable. She is also incredibly personable and makes you feel like family, thank you Tanya.

Dr. Anthony Donato MD was the hospitalist who responded to one of the MATTs my nurses called during an episode of a dangerously high heart rate. By the time Dr. Donato was at my bedside, my heart rate was starting to decline but I was still having persistent chest pain and shortness of breath. Dr. Donato was able to help collaborate with the nurses to help slow and calm my heart rate while talking to me and getting more of the big picture of what has been happening to me over the past few days. He talked to me in a kind and respectful manner and made me feel comfortable. Hours after the MATT he stopped by my room again to talk with me and check up on me. He explained to me that after reviewing all the EKGS on my chart and witnessing an episode, he believed that I was not having just generalized anxiety. Hearing that a provider who was not on my usual care team finally believing me made me feel recognized and validated. He is an incredible provider, so kind and professional, and took the time to learn a bit about myself, my story, and my family. Thank you, Dr. Donato.

Dr. Anna Bossert DO is my attending physician who was alerted by the OBGYN resident that I was brought into the emergency room with a dangerously high heart rate. Dr. Bossert helped facilitate my care during my entire hospital stay and made sure she was kept informed on all the decisions made for my care. Dr. Bossert was alerted by one of my nurses that I was not treated fairly by another physician, and she advocated for me during this time. Dr. Bossert was relentless in trying to find a diagnosis for my symptoms and never once doubted me as a patient which was incredibly important to not only myself but for the course of my care. She took the time to listen to me and even came to see me and check up on me on the days she was not required to be here. Her bedside manner is unmatchable- the way she sits with her patients and really makes them feel validated and heard is unlike any other physician I have ever seen. She even went as far as to research my diagnosis made by cardiology and found case studies to show me that matched my exact symptoms and everything I have been experiencing over the past few days and even few weeks I have been experiencing these symptoms. She explained everything in detail for me much more than the other physicians have and validated that my diagnosis and my symptoms are real- even if they look like anxiety to another physician. She came up with a plan for me so I could be able to leave the hospital and gave me a plan for the rest of my pregnancy. I am so incredibly lucky she is my physician, she advocated for me so much during my stay I am so thankful for her. She is truly one of the best physicians reading hospital has. Thank you Dr. Bossert for everything you do.

*The patient was discharged, and the team looks forward to seeing her again when it’s time for her to deliver.
