I'm holding back tears as I write this. During a challenging time when our 6-year-old was undergoing chemo, Mati gave us hope, encouragement and the strength to keep fighting. She was a warm, loving nurse who went above and beyond for her patients. To have someone greet you every day with a hug and a smile is priceless. Her energy was contagious.

Mati actively participated in the bone marrow transplant process. She was thorough - explaining every detail from start to finish. She was there to answer all of our questions and helped us understand and navigate next steps. Mati was the first to jump in and problem solve - offering solutions to ensure everything was going as planned. She was prepared and took initiative during our appointments, working efficiently and effectively to get the job done. She is a visionary for positive transplant outcomes and a role model to her fellow nurses and clinicians.

Mati was our advocate and became an additional support system within the hospital. She helped me recognize that I needed to take care of myself in order to be there for my children.
