Dr. Hoffman helped me discover the nurse that I wanted to be. He took the time to sit down with me and really listen to what I wanted in my career. He asked me, "Where does your heart want to be?" and "What drives you, what will make you wake up every day loving to go to work?" He really made me think about who I am as a person and helped me connect that to the type of nurse I want to be. 
Since my time starting college and nursing school, no other professor has cared for me in that way before. Dr. Hoffman truly cares for each and every one of his students and takes the time to make sure they feel appreciated. During clinical, he made sure that we knew all of our drugs and nursing actions, but most importantly, he made sure that we were caring for our patients in the best way that we could. He showed us the importance of understanding what the patient was going through and how important it is to empathize with them and their families. Dr. Hoffman is an extraordinary role model for all of his students and deserves to be recognized for all of the selfless work he 's done.
