September 2019 Honoree
matt merfeld, RN
This summer I was brought to the hospital and admitted. My husband told me that Matt was compassionate, caring, and wouldn't leave my side. He also stayed an extra 2 hours after his shift to make sure I was OK. I do know he did CPR on me and when I'd wake up while being sedated I remembered his voice, it was kind and sincere and I trusted what he said and tried to relax and fell back to sleep.
When they took the intubation tube out, I remember Matt's voice and I was very happy he was there. Matt is a very passionate nurse, he explained what happened after I woke up and if I needed him, he came back into the room to see what I needed and made me very comfortable.
I know that Matt wasn't the only nurse, but I do believe that he is very passionate about his job and he is my guarding angel.
I want to thank Matt for being there for me and helping me through this difficult time.
