Matt Pardoe, RN

During my 92-year-old grandma’s stay at UCHealth Greeley Hospital, the night nurses were phenomenal, although there was one that stood out to my family and I. Matt Pardoe, the charge nurse for the overnight shift, would come in to talk to my grandma and make sure my family was doing okay. When my grandma was dying, he talked us through everything and ensured that we understood what was going on. During her final stages, he assured us that she was not in pain and made sure my sister and I weren’t alone in the process. When she did pass, he got teary and hugged us all. I know charge nurses are always busy, but he came in every time he had an extra moment to check on her. He made us feel that she was important, and we were so impressed by the level of care he provided. Matt truly made a difference in what was a devastating moment. We are so thankful he was there those nights for our grandma and our family. It’s comforting to know that this is more than just a job to Matt and he truly cares about his patients.
