Matt went above and beyond his profession. A John Doe was admitted into your ICU and put on life support. With the first name only given to EMTs, and a tattoo on his left arm. Matt took it upon himself to go to social media and was able to find John Doe was our family member. If not for his investigation our loved one would have passed away as a John Doe and we would have never known he was gone. To my family and friends in Missouri: this man is a hero. A thank you will never be enough.

I never met him. I have never even set foot in the state of Florida. What I do know is if it was not for Matt, my friend of 20 years would have been just another John Doe in the morgue. All of us back in and around my dear friend's hometown would have never have known what happened to him. Matt went out of his way to try and find out who a patient was who came in with no story. Matt noticed a name tattooed on my friend's arm and decided to do some research to give this John Doe his identity back. Matt did not look at my sweet friend as just another addict. He looked at him as a human. As a son, as a brother, as an uncle. This patient was unknown for 10 days, hooked up on life support. Matt was able to find my family and friends who most loved him, 15+ hours away. Luckily there are two friends in the area that were able to be there by his side, so he did not leave this world alone. Thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for searching more than required. Thank you for allowing us to bring him home. Matt, if you only could have met him in different circumstances. You would have known how much of a great person he was. Thank you for believing he deserved to come home.
