Nomination #1
I remember when Matt was a nursing student on our unit during his ortho clinical rotation. It was quite evident at that time that Matt was going to be an excellent nurse with an excellent work ethic. We wanted Matt hired to our unit, and with a lot of petitioning from our staff of our Clinical Director, he was awarded a position on our unit. Matt did not disappoint. He quickly became one of the best and most trusted nurses on Ortho/Trauma. By this, I mean that he puts his patient's needs before everything else. Matt is a true Hero when it comes to being a patient's advocate. Most recently, when a patient was taking a turn for the worse, Matt relentlessly pursued the medical staff following the patient until action was taken. That undoubtedly saved the patient's life. He is an excellent role model and is an excellent preceptor. He shows great compassion and empathy, and is professional Always. He cared for my aunt, after one of her surgeries, and she still mentions Matt by name several years later. I consider him one of our unit's greatest of assets!
Nomination #2
Matt, above all, is an advocate for the patient. Every action he takes is related to the best interest of the patient, even if it is an inconvenience to him. He has excellent critical thinking skills and is able to manage his patient load proactively. He comes to work every day with a smile on his face and is a team player. He is a positive role model to his co-workers.
Nomination #3
Matt is an inspiring nurse. He is always willing to lend a hand and is always compassionate to his patients along with people in general. He is an excellent nurse and role model and would be a great candidate for the DAISY award.
Nomination #4
As a therapist, I feel that Matt Seidl collaborates with other members of the health care team to meet patients' needs and demonstrates compassionate care. I have always seen him interact kindly with his patients and he is very polite and considerate of the role of the therapy team. Any time I have had a question about or needed help with a patient he has always followed through and taken the time to assist to see that the patient's care comes first.
Nomination #5
Matt shows such compassion and care towards his patients treating each one with equal care.
Nomination #6
Matt creates a calm presence on the floor. He is always willing to answer questions & takes time to teach new nurses.
Nomination #7
Matt is a wonderful role model to his peers and patients. He is always willing to help and lend that extra hand when we are in need. He goes that extra mile and that makes him an excellent nurse.
Nomination #8
A mentor is something I have found in Matt Seidl. He was my preceptor for my 6 weeks of nursing orientation. Looking back I could not see myself in orientation with any other nurse. He was always more than willing to answer questions and helped me become a better nurse. He is someone I still turn to for guidance because he is always there to lend a hand. The role model you are looking for is Matt.
Nomination #9
A role model is something that is hard to find, but not in Matt Seidl. I have worked with him for about 2 years and he has a special relationship with every patient he comes in contact with. He is always pleasant to work with and the first to say hello in the morning. He is always right next to you, good day or bad, you know if you're in the same hallway with him you have a good team for the day. The people he trains are always well educated about the unit and our processes. I do not think that you could find a better role model or someone that cares more about the people he is taking care of. He inspires not only me but other people on our unit.
