He never gave up on me. He keeps on giving. He always kept a positive attitude. In my eyes he is a good team leader. He listened to me and was concerned about my mental health issues. Harborview should be proud to have him on their team. I also want to thank Nurse Shawn for helping Matthew, and making my stay more pleasant. Thank you Matthew. I really wasn't the best patient because I was off my mental health meds.

Matt is frequently acknowledged by patients for being competent and caring. One notable patient told me on rounds that he had told Matt how much he missed seeing the sunrise each day as it was something he shared with a loved one. The patient had tears in his eyes when he told me "Matt took a picture of the sunrise on his cell phone so that I could see it". This made the patient's day. Matt is an excellent example of how powerful relationship, caring and communication are when paired with the science of nursing.
