February 2019 Honoree
matthew bailey, RN
Matthew cared for my daughter during her time in the Emergency Center. He was calming and compassionate - always making her feel comfortable, even when it was time for the dreadful IV. He went the extra mile to make us feel at ease during stressful situations - explaining her plan of care, step-by-step. Being an ER nurse, I appreciated that. Our experiences at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital have always been great. Matthew is extra special in our book, earning the title as 'best nurse ever' from my daughter.
***
Matthew has been a clinical nurse in the Emergency Center since March 2018, when he started in the RN Residency Program, Cohort 21. He does an extraordinary job of including his patients and families in the plan of care, always keeping them informed. He is kind, compassionate, and funny, which puts patients at ease during their unexpected visit to the EC. Matthew is positive, proactive, and his smile infects the entire department - a true representation of a DAISY Nurse.
