Compassionate, comforting, caring are the first three words I can use to describe Matt. He made a painful, stressful, life altering experience easier to accept. Matt's care and concern went beyond that for his patient but extended to our family members as well. Matt ministered not only to their physical but emotional needs. We are deeply grateful.

Matthew Dittmar is an overall exceptional nurse. When responding to rapid responses his calm presence eases everyone's nerves and takes control. One rapid response recently was a 45-year-old COVID positive patient who was not able to have family at her bedside. She was going into respiratory distress. Matt jumped in and explained to the patient what was happening. This patient started to cry as she knew she was going to end up on a ventilator. When Matt was explaining everything to her, he held her hand, looked her in the face, and told her he was going to be by her side, and he would "take excellent care of her". While she was still able to speak, he made sure he had her son's correct phone number and made it a point to let her know he would be speaking to her son, relay information, and answer any questions he may have. It was evident by the look in her eyes that he eased her fear, she knew if he was there, she would be well taken care of. Matt did not back down on his promise to take excellent care of her as he accompanied her to the ICU and stood by her side during intubation. He is an angel to not only this patient but many others. He is a true DAISY Nurse.
