After going to the Cath Lab my mother was in a huge amount of pain after not being able to get the stent in. Matt made sure my mom's pain level was going down and that she was always comfortable and didn’t need anything. If she needed anything he made sure he got it for her or found someone that could help. He even made sure that we, as visitors, were taken care of and that we knew what he was doing when he was changing things.

I was a patient transferred into the ICU from another hospital. I stayed in the ICU for 5 days with low potassium and calcium. I was also severely septic and on the verge of septic shock. Although all the nurses and staff were wonderful, Matt really went above and beyond. He took care of all my medical needs professionally but still made me feel like a person. He treated me with respect and dignity in every aspect of my care. It was also nice having a male nurse to help me through some of the more intimate procedures. Matt always greeted my family with a friendly face and was willing to answer all of their questions in person or via phone calls. Upon discharge, Matt made sure I had all of the means necessary to be successful in my sobriety and health journey. It is for all these reasons I am nominating Matt for the DAISY Award.

Thank you, Matthew, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
