We had a patient come in via EMS that had a fall, and the patient was autistic. The patient was very inconsolable and anxious. Matthew spent over an hour in the room 1:1 with the patient, comforting him, rubbing his back, and his hair, and showing so much compassion to this patient that it truly touched and warmed my heart. Matthew is an extraordinary and compassionate nurse. Even in the most hectic situations, Matthew was able to help this patient give him his undivided attention.
