We were visiting family in Houston when our daughter was brought in with bronchiolitis and developed pneumonia. We eventually ended up in the PICU and our daughter was intubated. Matthew was very compassionate and intentional about taking care of our daughter as if she were his own. He answered our questions, showed her kindness and allowed us to be as involved as possible while in the PICU. He advocated for her and provided excellent care. While we hope to never be in the PICU again, we hope that all our nurses are as wonderful as Matthew. We had several great nurses, but we really wanted to highlight how wonderful Matthew was to our small family.
