Matt jumped in to help two different people who needed immediate help within 15 minutes of each other. A confused patient arrived on the 8th Floor attempting to carry a broken wound vac and lots of supplies. She was struggling to carry everything and was clearly lost. Matt immediately went to help this woman, making sure she was safe, helping her pack up everything she dropped, and offering to help her find her way to the building next door.

A few minutes later, a staff member fainted and had a medical emergency. Again, Matt was the first person to respond, jumping into action and providing medical care. He stayed with the staff member and cared for them not only until the rapid response team arrived, but also for a long time afterward. He didn't leave until he knew the staff member was safe. Matt did not have to help either of these people during his already busy shift, but he immediately helped without hesitation.
