Matthew Warner, RN

Matt was the charge RN for the Cardiac Care Unit, along with caring for patients. His patient, who was in palliative/hospice care, had been in the hospital for a week and was going downhill. Matt coordinated with the patient's family to bring his dog out to visit one more time.

Matt wheeled the patient outside in his bed, and stayed outside with him. All the while, the patient's dog was able to joyfully hop up into the patient's arms and lie down. When wheeling the patient back up to his room, the patient was so thankful for Matt that he cried. I've never seen anything as wonderful as that reunion. Matt is amazing, truly.
