February 2018 Honoree
matthew willis 2018, RN
I brought my patient to IR who spoke no English and was very anxious. She had to be on her stomach several hours for a procedure and was crying and having a hard time holding still and understanding. Matt spent most of his time sitting next to her head and stroking gently the side of her face reassuring her. She stayed calm while he stayed with her and was able to tolerate the procedure because of Matt. These are the qualities of an RN that can't be taught and that family members don't get to witness. His compassionate act did not go unnoticed.
Thank you, Matthew, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
