Maura is an exceptional nurse; this is demonstrated by her compassion for her patients. She will always put her patients first. She demonstrates selfless actions through her entire shift to give her patients the best care.
One particular week Maura took care of a patient who was in the need of receiving dialysis. The patient had spent the better part of their disease process refusing this life saving treatment. Maura spent hours every day at the patient's bedside trying to convince the patient to go forward with the treatment. Her persistence eventually paid off and the patient accepted treatment. I believe she single handedly changed this patient's mind and saved their life.
