There were 3 emergency cases including a NICU baby with a critical airway, a patient who had post-tonsillectomy bleeding, and a trauma major at the same time. Maura worked very effectively to mobilize the OR nursing back up team, to prepare 2 ORs for emergencies, and to communicate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, ED, parents, and PACU nurses. All 3 cases started on time and all 3 patients had successful intraoperative courses. Maura's dedication, communication, and leadership were outstanding.
