I have only worked with Maureen for a short time but every time she is scheduled, I am put at ease. Maureen is patient, kind, and diligent. When a stressful situation arises, Maureen remains calm and delegates appropriately. For example, one night we worked, a new patient needed to be a 1:1, and rather than panicking, Maureen utilized what staff she had and remained calm with what appeared to be a stressful situation. She delegated tasks and made sure that everyone was okay with the assignment and utilized me (RN supervisor) as needed. Maureen also always makes sure that patient safety is her top priority. Maureen always remains professional.

I would like to say that Ms. Maureen Davey has always been professional, polite, calm, and caring as we start our 11-7 shift. I have joined her to assist with the translation of the admitting process and then relaying back to the RN the patient's concerns. I always leave the encounter with the new patient and my nurses grateful that I too am part of the team. Thank you.

Maureen has been a team player in every situation. One in particular that demonstrates her team attitude and patient care that I remember. I left her a voicemail and asked if she could come in at 7 pm to relieve me and start her 11-7 shift early. Later, she came in at 9 pm and I asked her "what are you doing here?" To which she replied, " I got here as fast as I could after I got your message." I said, "Maureen that was not for tonight that was for next Wednesday." She only heard part of the message and rushed in to accommodate the situation. She is a gem.

Maureen consistently provides patients with compassionate and thoughtful care. She goes out of her way to ensure patients feel safe and secure while hospitalized. Her kind demeanor allows her to connect with even the most difficult patient. She is skilled in therapeutic communication and verbal de-escalation which allows her to successfully manage multiple agitated/disorganized/psychotic patients.
Recently, a patient was admitted who was confused, (+)RIS, and a high fall risk. Maureen ensured the patient was safe by allowing the patient to sleep in the lounge and starting a 1:1 even though there wasn't enough staff and it meant more work for herself. Maureen was able to talk to the patient and successfully medicate the patient. She reached out to the on-call for additional orders to ensure patient comfort.
