I want to acknowledge Maureen, because she stands out above the rest. We’ve been here at Memorial Hermann for so 12 days so far, and we’ve had the pleasure of having Maureen as our nurse two different stays (we moved up to TIRR and then had to move back to the Neuro floor). We have experienced a variety of nurses.

My husband has not been in the best place mentally, emotionally, or physically after his stroke. Maureen has been outstanding in the way she communicates and works with him. Her easy-going humor helped make this necessary hospital stay a bit easier. It is not only her personality, but she is on top of her game when it comes to nursing. Maureen doesn’t miss anything. As my husband’s advocate, I feel like I can relax a bit when she is our nurse. I know she has our backs and is looking out for us. No other nurse we’ve had compares to her. I find myself wanting to ask for her when she’s somewhere else. Maureen noticed my husband’s beard was getting a bit long and scruffy, so she gave his beard and mustache a trim. I will miss her calling him “Papa”!!
