Never have I encountered an individual as selfless, kind, compassionate and clinically competent as Molly Maigret. My first encounter with Molly was during my mother's experiences in the ENH Emergency Dept. Molly had the unique ability to make a stressful experience less agonizing. Her demeanor, genuine concern and gentle manner made Mom and me feel as if we were in the presence of an angel with a healing touch, and we began to refer to her as St. Molly.
Fast forward to 2009 when I became Director of the YWCA Rape Crisis Program. I then had the distinct honor to work with Molly in her capacity as the ENH Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE Nurse), a role that she embraces with passion and total commitment. For those unaware of Molly's role as the SANE coordinator, it is because of her that ENH can boast having the premiere SANE Program in Western New York.
I have witnessed Molly's saintly approach to arguably the most traumatic life experience bringing dignity, kindness and compassion to rape victims, male and female, young and old and set them on the path to healing. Molly gives of her time, co-chairs the County's Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) with me and is a true DAISY Nurse.
