Our son had brain surgery. As a mother, I had been very impressed on the 1st day during our admission meeting. Maureen had extreme empathy for us. She took her time to make us comfortable, and used words to not only explain what to expect but gave us hope that this journey was going to be OK.
After a week in ICU, I had a little breakdown and was discouraged. I remembered Maureen! I found her offices and didn't even exactly remember her name. I just barely gave a description, but they knew immediately who I described. Maureen looked in my eyes, threw her arms around me, and said, "Come on, let's take a walk."
We walked and talked and ended up in the chapel. Praying for comfort, peace, healing, and a new friend that was a gift from God for me.
My son spent 29 and a half days in ICU, and today, we are so thankful that he is being released to rehab. Thankful beyond words for our journey here - my son's healing, and Maureen, who gave me hope and her healing touch and love along the way.
