Maggie, you noticed your patient had a new diagnosis when admitted to the unit. You ensured that the patient received the appropriate care while in our hospital. Thank you for your diligence in providing safe patient care. Thank you Maggie!!!

Maureen had been offered a CN3 position by her manager (they don’t have anyone at that level on her unit currently) because she’s constantly going above and beyond to care for her patients and her constant support of the other staff on the unit. Thankfully, she declined but I think that shows what they think of her clinically. She also regularly receives positive feedback during discharges on how caring she is of the mother’s needs and comfort and the education she provides of the birthing process. She told me she tries to draw diagrams and pictures of what’s happening to the baby and mom’s body. She’s on a day shift contract but will work nights/mids, call, and will even come in on her days off to help the unit’s short staffing. Fill-in charge and preceptor as needed. There have been other staff nurses who hadn’t believed her when she told them she is a contractor and not staff.
