Our Campus is proud to announce Maureen Waweru, RN, 4West Cullen, as recipient of the DAISY Award, which recognizes one nurse each month for going above and beyond to deliver exceptional patient care.
“I’m so excited to receive this great award,” said Waweru. “It’s a wonderful feeling to be recognized by my patients for providing good care.”
Over the past month, three different patients submitted nomination cards for Waweru. The first one
reads, “She is great and will help with all questions and concerns. She actually takes the time to understand and listen – such a cute personality and a big star!”
A former patient and family member wrote, “She helped us throughout our stay and was always happy and cheerful. She is a very optimistic person.”
Another patient wrote, “Maureen has not only been especially thorough and competent in her leadership position, but she has shown me compassion, empathy and care in a place where I was alone. She explained procedures and educated me during my first serious disease – cancer – as well as comforted me during a panic attack while she was attending to her other patients. I highly recommend her for the DAISY Award.”
