My mother spent multiple days in the hospital being treated for pneumonia. She experienced excellent care from the doctors, nurses, technicians, and staff. We were delighted by the coordination of absolutely EVERYTHING. There was one particular person who made her stay even more comfortable - Maya.
A bit of a story... my father had phoned me on the second day to say that my mother was NOT doing well and that I should get to the hospital ASAP. I drove like a maniac and ran up to her room where I found my mother and Maya. Both could see I was upset. I explained the reason for my haste. Maya immediately jumped into calm me - but then she went above and beyond. Maya asked me to take a look at her screen where she went through every single vital sign and test that showed my mother was fine - stable, and not at risk. Maya did something incredibly important. She demonstrated her own competence and expertise in a way that allowed my mother and me to better understand her illness and the logical course of treatment.
Maya was assigned to my mother for 3 days of her 5-day stay. We will ALWAYS remember and appreciate Maya for her attention, expertise, and charming bedside manner. I hope you will recognize her for going above and beyond.
