Maybelle Simmons, BSN, RN

My attending nurse, Fozia Maybelle was, from the start, warm, friendly, and receptive. As preparation in the operating room with equipment and comfort of the room ensued, she immediately set me at ease. While technicians were adjusting medical equipment, she assisted with expert professionalism. And with her multitasking skill a breath was not taken as she eased into our conversation by sharing family stories that mirrored each other's lives. Our conversation continued with her given name, Maybelle. This gave me amusement as it reminded me of a favorite youthful song, "Maybelline" sung by Check Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis. Although the name is spelled differently, Nurse Fozia will not be forgotten by me. Fozia’s care and extremely genuine concern for my welfare and comfort did not go amiss. I found her to be very personable. She is a special lady in a special occupation, nursing. I give Fozia’s professionalism and personable character five stars! Five stars are the highest.
