Mayra Legaspi, BSN

I’ve been in and out of a lot of hospitals. I’ve met plenty of medical providers, nurses, PAs, NPs, techs, and all other supporting roles in various settings. You come across a few that deserve to be recognized and remembered, and Mayra is definitely one of them.

While going through one of the scariest times of my life, she cared beyond medical needs. She listened to me, comforted me, and gave me something to look forward to. She has great care but even a greater heart.

Nurses should model after her to see what real nursing looks like. I heard her instructing the Doctor on what to do, and I have never seen that. More importantly, the Doctor listened to her and trusted her opinion.

I truly believe she is the person who kept me alive. The staff and hospital are lucky to have her.
