February 2020 Honoree
mayra olivos, BSN, RN
My husband was transferred from TICU to TACS 1 ½ weeks after his accident (the first time). Mayra was the Charge nurse at the time. She made us feel comfortable and explained everything to us. When my husband started to have problems she immediately took action to move him following a consult with the doctor.
Recently my husband was brought back from TACS and Mayra was his nurse. She cares for him like he is her father. Always talking to him in a sweet tone and telling him what she is doing. When she does a procedure she always rubs his hair and makes him calm down.
She is so gentle. She acts towards my husband as I would act toward him. It is so refreshing as a spouse to see someone care for my husband as I would. She is a wonderful nurse and a great human being. I would like to thank her for all she has done for my family. She is an extraordinary person and nurse.
