One evening I came into work late after being in a motor vehicle accident. Both Catherin and Tarah assisted with my team before I arrived even with their busy teams. The entire night we all worked as a well-oiled machine. With no tech and three very hard teams not once did either of my coworkers blink when asked for help. Both Tarah and Catherin gave multiple of my patients' meds while was tied up with a critical patient. This patient started out on 15L and came down to about 8 l. Tarah and I both had this patient on previous admissions, so we knew them well. This patient was not themselves. I raised my concerns immediately to the MD who said he was not concerned at this time. Tarah helped advocate for my patient and my concerns and got through to the MD. The patient was sent to CCSD to be monitored more closely. While this happened, Catherin made sure my other patients were well taken care of. These two RNs really embody what it means to be a nurse compassionate, resourceful, with amazing critical thinking skills, and fantastic teamwork. These are two of the best nurses I've ever worked with and I would not have been able to accomplish all I did during that shift without them. The patients and employees are so much better off with these two RNs on their side. They have taught me so much and continue to each day. They are so deserving of recognition for their hard work.
