Mckenna Volquardsen, RN
My Dad came in with a bad sepsis infection and McKenna was his day shift nurse. He was very disoriented and hallucinating as he recovered, and she did an amazing job of connecting with him emotionally, listening along with his stories, and meeting him where he was, while still anticipating his needs and making sure he got the best possible care. Her empathy, kindness, and engagement really stood out and made all the difference as he recovered and eventually got to move out of the ICU. Thanks, Mckenna, you really showed that nursing is more than a profession for you!
