I would like to recognize McKenzie for handling an extremely busy shift with the utmost professionalism and grace. She took over her team at 1900 with an admit. She got her patient all settled and documentation completed while tending to her other three patients, only to have this patient code a few hours later. McKenzie demonstrated exceptional composure and skill in handling the code blue situation and is a prime example for her newer peers on the unit.

Within an hour of this code, she admitted another patient from the ED who required the Rapid Response Team's attention. Her attention to detail got this patient to the ICU quickly and, per the ICU RN, saved her from another code. To wrap up McKenzie's night, she admitted her final patient from the ED around 0600 before reporting off the oncoming shift. I would like to highlight that nights like this are rare, but McKenzie never complained and took on the night with enthusiasm. I am proud to say I work with this nurse and have total faith in her ability to take care of the critical patients that come through these doors.
