She explained my medications to me and listened to me when I talked about my grandkids or when I was upset and needed to talk.
I was admitted to the hospital with lupus. I went from taking zero medications to over twenty. Spending 10 days in the ICU, not remembering anything, I had brain fog, and my words wouldn’t come out. I couldn’t even read or consider trying to figure out what I was supposed to do with this disease that had taken over my body. I was scared to death. This nurse gave me the best care and was always right on top of everything I needed. When I called out, she was always there, and I don’t think I ever had to wait. She explained my medications to me and listened to me when I talked about my grandkids or when I was upset and needed to talk. When I was eager to go home, she was honest with me and told me she didn’t think I was ready; I was being stubborn and didn’t want to listen, but I wish I would have. I ended up leaving, only to return to the hospital, and she was there to welcome me with a caring smile. This nurse is a true nurse at heart and an angel in my eyes. I will always remember her kindness; she will never be forgotten by me.
