McKenzie Hite Miller, RN
McKenzie is the true embodiment of a nurse and an employee who lives the Mercy mission. I have worked in the healthcare field for over 32 years and am a Mercy Health employee and I have never seen the dedication to a patient that she gave to my husband. Even though he could not tell her, she knew he was in pain and went above and beyond to make sure she was getting him the care and relief that he needed. She was a true advocate for her patient. She contacted multiple disciplines inside the hospital as well as his pain management doctor outside of the hospital trying to get him help - she even got the medical director involved. All the while she kept me informed and I could recognize the true compassion in her voice and actions. The one thing I regret is that I didn't get to meet her in person - but hopefully will soon.
